Remedium Turns 10: 4 Awards

Over the last 10 years, Remedium has been awarded four different awards for contributions to both the healthcare and recruitment industries. Our guiding mission has been to solve the UK healthcare staffing crisis with best practice recruitment and industry leading candidate care – read on to find out more about our achievements and what they mean to us as a business.  

Our first award: 2018 EMEA Emmas Best Vendor Partnership  

In 2018, we began our partnership with Benivo. We developed our digital relocation tool, Red Carpet, to reduce the administrative time involved in the relocation process both for our candidates and clients, making relocation smoother and less stressful. Reducing barriers in the way of relocation is key in our mission of filling vacancies with permanent, FTE clinicians in the place of locums, driving significant cost savings and improving patient care and outcomes.  

Within the first year of launching the platform, Remedium and Benivo were recognised for contributions to mobility and expatriate management in the EMEA region at the EMMAs.  

2019 HSJ Recruitment Services Provider of the Year  

The following year, we were recognised at the HSJ Partnership Awards for our work with London North West Healthcare University Trust. We embarked on a project to recruit 20 highly skilled and experienced clinicians to join the Trusts emergency department ahead of Winter Pressures – enabling them to maintain a full staffing rota, improve patient care and reduce agency and locum expenditure.  

Our international projects offering allows Trusts, like London North West, to fill vacancies at pace and scale, driving significant cost savings and enabling organisations to fulfil long-term hiring requirements quickly and effectively. We are proud to have been recognised in partnership with London North West for this recruitment methodology – one that we know will be key in our mission to solve the UK healthcare staffing crisis.  

2021 Recruiter Award for Best Candidate Care  

While our mission statement is to solve the UK healthcare staffing crisis, our top priority at Remedium is candidate care. We are honoured to have received the 2021 Recruiter Award for Best Candidate Care in recognition of our dedication to candidate wellbeing. 

Recruiting from overseas poses its own unique set of challenges – increased administrative processes, logistical hurdles, and cost – but recruiting from overseas in the midst of a pandemic, lockdowns and travel restrictions added another set of barriers. However, the need for healthcare professionals in the NHS only increased during the height of the pandemic. We knew that recruitment would be more essential than ever to ensure fully staffed rotas in the face of increased staff sickness.   

Moving overseas during a pandemic also presents increased challenges in building a network and socialising. We know that candidates may feel isolated and lonely after moving to a new country, where they may have limited contacts, and the pandemic and resultant lockdowns made making connections even harder. To overcome this, we organised social events and networking opportunities to ensure our candidates had the opportunity to build a network in the UK. We take a whole scale approach to both recruitment and candidate care, and our support does not stop when candidates arrive in the UK and begin their placement.   

2023 Recruiter Awards Agency Leader of the Year

Last month, our CEO, David Green, won Agency Leader of the Year at the Recruiter Awards.  

When we started Remedium in 2013, I was determined to help recruitment shed its negative stereotypes – I knew that recruitment could, and should, be done with integrity and with the best interests of both employer and candidate at its heart. I am incredibly proud of the team that Remedium has built over the past decade, and the inclusive, open and honest culture we have created.
