In 2013, Remedium was founded with a single purpose – to reduce agency locum spend in the NHS by placing only fixed-term and permanent clinicians. Since then, the business has grown considerably, with offices in London, Glasgow and Mumbai. To date, we have placed over 1,800 permanent clinicians across 80 NHS trusts, allowing our clients to save an estimated £150 million in agency locum spend.
However, our work is never done. According to NHS Improvement, an estimated 90% of doctor vacancies in the NHS are still being filled by temporary staff. Using temporary staff is not only costly; it is also disruptive to health services and reduces our clients’ ability to deliver continuity of care to patients.
Over the years, we have acquired the experience and expertise to go beyond the “see-gap-fill-gap” transactional recruitment practices of yesterday. In addition to the traditional approach, we partner with our NHS clients to build bespoke clinical staffing retention programmes that address the growing healthcare staffing demands of the future. We work together with our clients to achieve our mission of solving the UK healthcare staffing crisis.
