We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in the subspecialty field of Learning Disabilities for an excellent NHS Trust based in the South East of England. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and create individual treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment interventions, including medication management and psychotherapy, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic care delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to review patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior medical staff and trainees.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay abreast of latest research, guidelines, and best practices in the field of learning difficulties psychiatry.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Primary medical qualification and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Consultant level experience in psychiatry with a subspecialty focus on learning difficulties.
  • MRCPsych qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
