The post offered is that of a Specialist Doctor in a North London Older Adults Community Mental Health Team. The post holder will provide senior medical cover along with a full-time consultant who is currently in post. The service provides assessment to older adult patients with psychiatric issues and provides one day of memory service input.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide senior medical leadership to the team alongside the consultant and in their absence.
    • Provide timely comprehensive assessment, treatment and follow up of elderly people with psychiatric disorders who require the intervention of our specialist services.
    • Provide cognitive assessment and treatment plans to patients with cognitive concerns.
    • Provide leadership and supervision to professionals working within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team.
    • Take the lead in the management of complex cases.
    • Provide support in formulating treatment plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
    • Ensure the review and care of patient’s physical health through liaison with other agencies including the patients GP and general hospital services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full GMC 
  • Full MRCPsych
