An opportunity is available for a Temporary Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a developing child and adolescent mental health service in Ireland.
The successful candidate will provide consultant-led specialist assessment, diagnostic formulation, treatment planning and clinical leadership within a community-based CAMHS setting, with additional liaison and in-reach responsibilities where clinically appropriate.

Main Duties

The successful applicant will:

• Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
• Lead and support clinical decision-making within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
• Contribute to referral triage, case prioritisation, care planning and discharge planning.
• Provide outpatient-based care.
• Provide clinically appropriate liaison or in-reach input for young people in acute hospital settings.
• Support the development of integrated care pathways across community and hospital services.
• Contribute to service development and sustainable healthcare initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance and contemporaneous medical records.
• Participate in risk management and patient safety activities.
• Contribute to teaching, supervision and training of non-consultant hospital doctors and other team members.
• Participate in audit, quality improvement and service planning.

Essential

Applicants must have:

• Specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration, with the Medical Council of Ireland in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Demonstrable clinical expertise in child and adolescent mental health.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage complex clinical presentations.
• Ability to contribute to safe, evidence-based care.
• Commitment to quality improvement and clinical governance.
• Commitment to recovery-oriented and patient-centred care.
• Access to own transport.
