We are recruiting a Breast Radiographer (Mammography) to join our Breast Imaging Service in South West England.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mammographer looking to join a modern breast screening service that delivers high-quality screening, assessment, and symptomatic breast imaging. UK/NHS experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality screening mammography in accordance with NHS Breast Screening Programme standards.
- Deliver specialist assessment mammography within breast assessment clinics.
- Provide imaging support for symptomatic breast services.
- Work across both static and mobile breast screening units.
- Produce consistently high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining excellent patient care.
- Assess image quality and ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and local protocols.
- Support radiologists and advanced practitioners during breast biopsy and localisation procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, including those who may be anxious or require additional support.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Participate in quality assurance programmes, equipment monitoring and image quality audits.
- Contribute to departmental research, clinical audit and service improvement initiatives.
- Mentor, supervise and support junior radiographers, assistant practitioners and students.
- Participate in continuing professional development and advanced practice opportunities.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary breast imaging team to deliver outstanding patient care.
Person Specific
Essential
Qualifications
- BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent).
- HCPC Registration.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience
- UK NHS experience is essential.
- Experience in mammography within a breast imaging service.
- Strong knowledge of breast imaging techniques and patient positioning.
- Experience maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Willingness to travel between screening sites, including mobile units.
Desirable
- Certificate of Competence in Mammography (or equivalent).
- Breast Screening Programme experience.
- Teaching or mentoring experience.
- Experience supporting quality assurance and clinical audit.
- Involvement in research or service development.
