We are recruiting Speciality Doctors in Emergency Medicine to join a busy and supportive Emergency Department in South West England. Multiple permanent opportunities are expected to become available, with both full-time and part-time working options considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, investigate, treat and appropriately discharge or refer patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Deliver high-quality emergency care while maintaining safe and effective departmental flow.
- Perform initial assessment, ongoing management and review of emergency patients.
- Provide clinical advice and supervision to junior doctors and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Act as Trauma Team Leader during trauma activations.
- Lead cardiac arrest teams within the Emergency Department.
- Participate in major incident responses in accordance with departmental emergency plans.
- Support efficient departmental floor management alongside senior nursing staff.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation, coding and effective communication with patients, carers and General Practitioners.
- Liaise closely with inpatient specialities, mental health services, rapid response teams and community healthcare providers.
- Review pathology and imaging results and initiate appropriate clinical management.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement projects, audit, risk management and incident investigations.
- Deliver bedside teaching and educational sessions for medical students, junior doctors, nursing staff and allied healthcare professionals.
Person Specification
Essential
Qualifications
- MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
- ALS/ACLS certification or evidence of a booked course.
- ATLS, APLS, PALS or EPLS certification.
- Minimum of four years' postgraduate clinical experience for Senior Speciality Doctor level (three years may be considered for Junior Speciality Doctor appointments).
- Minimum of two years' NHS experience at SHO level or above.
- Previous experience working within the NHS, EU or an equivalent healthcare system.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing acute emergency presentations.
- Experience working within a busy Emergency Department.
- Ability to assess, stabilise and manage critically ill and injured patients.
- Experience supervising junior clinicians and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Participation in clinical audit and quality improvement activities.
Desirable
- MRCEM or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of any FRCEM examinations.
- Emergency Medicine speciality training completed outside the UK.
- Experience as Trauma Team Leader.
- Experience leading cardiac arrest or resuscitation teams.
- Evidence of teaching, education or clinical training.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and Emergency Medicine service improvement.
