An opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Consultant Dermatologist to join a well-established dermatology service in Ireland.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality dermatological care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, managing a wide spectrum of skin conditions while working within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to service delivery, teaching, and clinical governance within a dynamic healthcare setting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-led dermatology services across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatological conditions, including acute and chronic skin diseases.
- Perform dermatological procedures where appropriate, including minor surgical interventions.
- Deliver timely and effective patient care, ensuring high clinical standards.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, surgical, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students where applicable.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure adherence to patient safety standards.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Registration
Essential
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Dermatology (Specialist Division).
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Dermatology (or equivalent).
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience at the Consultant level in Dermatology.
- Experience managing a broad range of dermatological conditions.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary clinical environments.
Desirable
- Experience in dermatological procedures or subspecialty interests.
- Experience in teaching or academic roles.
