New ZealandAccident & EmergencyPermanentSHO61,542 to 99,216 a year

An exciting opportunity awaits UK and Irish-trained doctors looking to take their skills abroad and experience a new healthcare system in New Zealand.

This role offers the perfect balance between professional development and lifestyle — with competitive pay, safe working hours, and a welcoming clinical culture.

You'll join one of New Zealand's most respected Urgent Care networks, working in modern, community-based clinics that deliver prompt, high-quality care. These positions are ideal for doctors who have completed Foundation Training and are seeking a rewarding F3 or F4 year filled with adventure, travel, and career growth.

About the Role

You will work in modern, community-based Urgent Care clinics, providing treatment for a wide range of presentations, from minor injuries and illnesses to occasional major cases and resuscitation situations.

The environment is comparable to A&E minors or GP settings in the UK — but with better work–life balance and a more relaxed pace.

Typical cases include:

  • Cuts, sprains, fractures, and minor trauma.
  • Respiratory infections, fevers, and acute medical presentations.
  • Occasional major emergencies require escalation to nearby hospitals.

Each clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, efficient digital systems, and strong clinical governance frameworks.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must:

  • Have completed Foundation Training by August 2025 or earlier.
  • Possess A&E experience, including exposure to minors or Urgent Care.
  • Bonus: Rotations or experience in GP, Paediatrics, or Trauma & Orthopaedics.
  • Be open to relocating for at least 12 months.
  • Have graduated from a UK or Irish medical school, or have worked full-time in the NHS for 3+ years.
  • No additional exams are required for registration.

Pay & Benefits

  • Average earnings: ~ £90,000 per annum (based on 40 hours per week).
  • Full reimbursement for Medical Council of New Zealand registration and indemnity insurance.
  • Four weeks' annual leave + 11 paid public holidays.

More experienced doctors (above the F4 level) may qualify for higher pay rates, which are discussed during the interview process.

Rota & Workload

  • 30–42 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to suit individual preferences.
  • Opportunity to pick up additional shifts for extra income.
  • Safe rotas with sustainable workloads and strong senior support.
  • No on-calls — enjoy predictable, balanced working patterns.
