Consultant Cardiologist
Apply nowAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Consultant Cardiologist to join a dedicated and multidisciplinary medical team on the East Coast of New Zealand.

Your responsibilities will include conducting outpatient clinics, participating in echo reading sessions, providing in-hospital consultations, and supporting nursing and general medicine teams in managing complex cardiac cases.
There are also opportunities to maintain interventional skills at a partnering tertiary hospital, depending on your area of expertise.
This is a 40-hour-per-week position with no on-call or weekend responsibilities, offering a balanced professional and personal lifestyle.

The cardiology service forms part of a collaborative and growing medical team committed to improving cardiac care across the East Coast region. The team works closely with tertiary centres to ensure patients receive the highest standard of evidence-based care and have access to specialist interventions when needed.
You will be supported by a team of skilled clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals who share a passion for providing patient-centred care and advancing cardiac services in the region.
There is also scope to participate in service development, research, and quality improvement initiatives, allowing you to contribute to the continued enhancement of local cardiac healthcare delivery.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A medical degree with a specialist qualification in Cardiology
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- Experience in managing complex cardiac cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative, patient-centred approach to care
- A genuine commitment to improving health equity in the community
