An exciting international opportunity has arisen for Senior House Officers across all specialities to join New Zealand's largest private provider of Urgent Care services.

This role is ideal for doctors seeking an F3/F4 opportunity outside the NHS within a highly supportive, well-structured, and lifestyle-focused healthcare environment across New Zealand. The position offers exposure to Urgent Care and Minor Emergency presentations within community-based urgent treatment centres, with excellent senior support, flexible working patterns, and strong earning potential.

The successful candidates will work within modern Urgent Care clinics, delivering patient-centred care in a safe and collaborative environment, while benefiting from an excellent work-life balance and relocation support.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior House Officer will:

• Provide urgent care assessment and treatment for walk-in patients

• Manage minor injuries and illnesses, including cuts, sprains, infections, coughs, and colds

• Assess and stabilise occasional higher acuity or emergency presentations

• Work collaboratively with senior clinicians and multidisciplinary teams

• Participate in supervised clinical practice during orientation and induction periods

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records

• Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care within Urgent Care settings

• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues

• Work flexibly across weekday, evening, and weekend shifts

The service provides community-based Urgent Care across multiple locations in Australia and includes:

• Consultant and Senior Doctor support on all shifts

• Structured orientation and induction programme

• Safe rota systems with regular working patterns

• Modern Urgent Treatment Centres

• Supportive multidisciplinary clinical teams

• Strong expatriate UK doctor network and social support system

Doctors may work across locations, including:

• Auckland

• Christchurch

• Palmerston North

• Whangarei

The clinical work closely resembles:

Person Specification

Requirements

Essential

• Completed Foundation Training by August 2026 or earlier

• Minimum 1 year NHS experience

• Experience within A&E / Emergency Medicine

• GMC Registration

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work within Urgent Care environments

• Interest in relocating internationally

• Willingness to commit to a minimum 12-month placement

Desirable

• Additional Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience

• Exposure to GP, Paediatrics, Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics or General Medicine

• Experience in minors or urgent treatment settings

• Interest in international healthcare experience

• Strong adaptability and independent clinical working ability
