An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Gastrointestinal (GI) imaging to join a highly skilled and supportive Radiology team in the Greater London region. This full-time position offers flexibility to support another subspecialty interest, with particular departmental needs in paediatrics, neurology, and cardiothoracic radiology.

The role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about advancing GI imaging while also maintaining a broad practice in general radiology. The department is accredited for training and actively supports teaching, skill development, and participation in multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic imaging services with a focus on GI radiology and associated intervention.
  • Maintain expertise in general radiology alongside subspecialty commitments.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Deliver teaching and training to undergraduates, postgraduate trainees, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, and strategic planning for service development.
  • Support the day-to-day management and long-term growth of the Radiology department.
  • Contribute to on-call duties and job planning in agreement with the Clinical Director.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Broad experience in General Radiology with specific competence in:
    • GI Ultrasound
    • Plain film reporting
    • CT Colonography
    • Cross-sectional GI MRI and CT
  • Ability to offer complete and independent diagnostic opinions in general and GI radiology.
  • Experience in teaching and supervising undergraduates and doctors in training.
  • Evidence of leadership in patient safety initiatives and service improvement.

Desirable Requirements

  • College Fellowship or Postgraduate Degree.
  • Experience working as a locum consultant.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: paediatrics, neurology, cardiothoracic imaging.
