We offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in Breast Cancer to join a well-established multidisciplinary team in the South East of England.
You will work collaboratively with a team of expert clinicians, contributing to high-quality oncology services in a dynamic and forward-thinking department. The role primarily focuses on Breast cancer, but there is scope to combine this with a second subspecialty interest—skin cancer is currently outlined. However, alternatives may be considered based on the applicant's expertise.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the care of breast cancer patients, including radiotherapy and Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- Attend and contribute to weekly MDT meetings and specialist clinics.
- Engage in radiotherapy peer reviews and contribute to the planning and supervising on-treatment review clinics.
- Participate in inpatient care and acute oncology services, including out-of-hours support and on-call duties.
- Participate actively in clinical trials, service development, and continuous improvement.
- Provide specialist oncology input at local and regional levels.
- Teach and supervise junior medical staff, allied health professionals, and medical trainees.
- Support the education and training within the department and across the organisation.
- Option to join the oligometastatic SABR service for suitably experienced candidates.

Person Specification:
Essential:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Broad experience in Clinical Oncology
- Experience managing breast and/or skin malignancies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively within multi-professional teams
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Evidence of teaching at the undergraduate/postgraduate level
Desirable:
- CCT in Clinical Oncology (or within 6 months of obtaining it)
- Recognised postgraduate qualifications in academic oncology
- Experience in SABR and/or working within the NHS
- A track record of research with relevant publications or presentations
