Stroke Consultant

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join a well-established and expanding stroke service in the South East. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care, work in a multidisciplinary environment, and play a key role in service development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-patient and out-patient care for patients with suspected stroke or TIA.
  • Contribute to a 24-hour acute stroke specialist service, including thrombolysis and specialist treatments.
  • Participate in a 1:7 weekend and public holiday consultant ward round rota.
  • Support and deliver quality improvements in the Stroke Unit and community stroke services.
  • Provide clinical input into early supported discharge services and stroke follow-up care.
  • Engage in teaching and training for undergraduate and postgraduate medical professionals.
  • Participate in clinical audits, service development, and research to enhance patient care.
  • Contribute to stroke service leadership and the development of clinical quality initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration.
  • MRCP
  • Extensive experience in stroke medicine, with specialist training in stroke care.
  • CCT in a relevant parent specialty or within six months of obtaining CCT.
  • Experience managing stroke and older patients, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong IT skills and computer literacy.
