Dermatology - Consultant
We are seeking a Consultant Dermatologist to join our dynamic and expanding team as part of the Dermatology Service in the South East region.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and manage a full range of dermatological conditions.

Perform minor dermatological surgery as required.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Support training and education of junior doctors, nurses, and GPs.
-
Participate in service development and innovation within the Dermatology department.
-
Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and research initiatives.
-
Maintain an active role in continuous professional development and regional/national Dermatology networks.
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Registration:
Essential:
-
MRCP or equivalent qualification.
-
Full GMC registration and ideally on the specialist register however this is by no means essential
-
UK applicants about to complete training and seeking their first Consultant position will also be considered
Desirable:
-
Higher Medical Degree (MD or PhD).
Experience & Skills:
Essential:
-
Competence to work at Consultant level in Dermatology.

Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating a range of dermatological conditions.

Ability to perform minor dermatological surgical procedures.
Desirable:

Specialty interest within Dermatology.

Experience in research and academic publications.
Management & Time Management:
Essential:

Ability to organise and manage ward rounds, clinics, and discharges effectively.
Desirable:

Familiarity with IT systems for clinical documentation and audits.
Audit & Research:
Desirable:

Experience in completing audit projects.

Participation in regional or national Dermatology audits.
Teaching & Education:
Essential:

Up-to-date knowledge of recent advancements in Dermatology.
Desirable:

Experience teaching junior doctors, nurses, and GPs.

Completion of a Teaching Skills Course.

Research publications in Dermatology.
