An opportunity is available for an experienced, motivated Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join an acute hospital service on an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality care for older adults within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will:

• Provide consultant-led assessment, diagnosis and management of older adult patients.
• Deliver specialist Geriatric Medicine services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
• Support service development and best-practice initiatives in older persons' care.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff.
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety and quality care.
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professional teams.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

• Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Previous experience in Geriatric Medicine.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland is preferred.
• Medical Council Certificate of Good Standing.
• Evidence of recognised specialist qualifications.

Required Documentation

• Up-to-date CV.
• Two references from recent employers.
• International Police/Security Clearance, where applicable.
• Evidence of qualification recognition by the relevant statutory or professional body.
• Signed declaration confirming that the applicant has not worked in the Republic of Ireland within the previous 36 months, where applicable.
