An excellent opportunity is available for a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team in Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will contribute to consultant-led obstetric and gynaecology services, including labour ward, emergency obstetric care, inpatient and outpatient services, and elective and emergency operative gynaecology.
The service welcomes candidates with a range of specialist interests that can complement existing service development priorities.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will:

• Provide consultant-led Obstetrics & Gynaecology services.
• Participate in the labour ward and emergency obstetric service.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynaecological care.
• Undertake elective and emergency operative gynaecology.
• Participate in the Consultant on-call rota.
• Contribute to the delivery and development of high-quality maternity and gynaecology services.
• Work collaboratively with Consultants, doctors in training, midwives, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to clinical governance, service development and patient safety initiatives.
• Support teaching, training and professional development within the department.

Clinical Requirements

The successful candidate should be able to contribute to:

• Consultant-led obstetric and gynaecology services.
• Labour ward management.
• Emergency obstetric care.
• Inpatient and outpatient Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
• Elective and emergency operative gynaecology.
• Obstetric ultrasound, including:
• • Fetal biometry
  • Liquor assessment
  • Placental localisation
  • Cervical length assessment

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

• Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
• MRCOG or equivalent recognised specialist qualification.
• Continuous NHS, HSC or Irish experience at Consultant level, ideally for at least one year.
• Willingness to participate in the Consultant on-call rota and labour ward service.
• Ability to provide high-quality clinical care across Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
