We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Radiologist to join a busy, expanding Radiology service in Yorkshire and the Humber.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, supportive and collaborative team, with opportunities to develop your subspecialist interests while contributing to a broad range of general radiology, multidisciplinary team (MDT) and departmental responsibilities.

Specialities

The successful candidate will have an interest in one of the following areas:

• Chest Imaging
• Uro-radiology
• Oncology Imaging

Please note: All of these roles will include a significant component of general radiology work and MDT cover. Applicants should therefore be comfortable providing general reporting alongside their subspecialty interests.
No other subspecialties are required for this post.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of Consultant Radiologists providing a comprehensive diagnostic radiology service.
The role will combine your chosen subspecialty interest with a strong element of general radiology, ensuring the department can continue to provide a rounded service to both inpatients and outpatients.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality general diagnostic radiology services.
• Undertaking reporting within your relevant subspecialty area.
• Participating in cross-sectional imaging reporting.
• Undertaking Duty Radiologist sessions.
• Contributing to ultrasound services where appropriate.
• Attending and contributing to relevant MDT meetings, with appropriate time incorporated into the job plan.
• Providing support and cover for Consultant and senior colleagues.
• Participating fully in the departmental out-of-hours on-call service.
• Providing telephone advice and support during on-call periods.
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit and service improvement.
• Supporting the development of new and modernised ways of working.
• Contributing to teaching and professional supervision of junior medical staff.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

• Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise.
• Eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register, with CCT expected within six months of interview, or evidence of a CESR application with eligibility for Specialist Registration via CESR within six months.
• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent primary medical qualification.
• FRCR specialist qualification or equivalent.
• Subspecialist training and experience appropriate to the post.
• Sufficient General Radiology experience to undertake general reporting.
• Experience of out-of-hours working.
• Experience or knowledge of working within UK NHS hospitals.
• Evidence of audit and implementation of change following audit.
• Ability and willingness to teach and support junior staff.
• Effective team-working, leadership, organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
