An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an experienced and supportive Mental Health Service in Western Australia.
The successful candidate will provide Consultant-led psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, managing patients with complex mental health conditions while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Depending on your experience and interests, there are opportunities to develop specialist practice across a range of psychiatric subspecialties while contributing to leadership, education and service development.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide Consultant assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with complex mental health conditions.
• Deliver psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services.
• Lead and support multidisciplinary mental health teams.
• Develop individualised treatment and recovery plans.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervise, mentor and teach junior medical staff.
• Contribute to service planning, innovation and ongoing service development.
• Promote evidence-based, patient-centred mental healthcare.
• Work collaboratively with allied health professionals and community services.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Registration

Essential

• UK CCT in Psychiatry or Irish CSCST in Psychiatry (or due to complete training shortly).
• Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Australia via the Expedited Specialist Pathway or another recognised specialist pathway.

Experience

Essential

• Consultant-level Psychiatry experience.
• Experience managing patients with complex mental health conditions.
• Broad experience across multidisciplinary mental health services.
• Strong clinical decision-making and risk assessment skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based psychiatric practice.
• Excellent communication and collaborative working skills.
