An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist to join an established Neurosciences team in North West England on a 3+ month fixed-term contract.
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive Clinical Neurophysiology service, delivering both EMG and EEG sessions across adult and paediatric patients. Working within a multidisciplinary Neurosciences department, you will contribute to service development, teaching, clinical governance and the continued expansion of specialist neurophysiology services.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver Consultant-led EMG and EEG services.
  • Provide Clinical Neurophysiology care for both adult and paediatric patients.
  • Participate in planning, developing and delivering Neurophysiology services.
  • Support multidisciplinary team working and coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice and continuing professional development.
  • Contribute to specialist services including intra-operative monitoring.
  • Develop specialist interests aligned with departmental priorities.
  • Participate in audit, governance, teaching and research activities.

  • Multiple Sleep Latency Testing
  • Intra-operative Monitoring
The successful candidate will work within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team supported by specialist Clinical Physiologists and modern diagnostic facilities.

 

Person Specification

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practise.
  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • GMC Specialist Registration in Clinical Neurophysiology (or within 6 months for substantive appointments).
  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor.
  • Wide-ranging Clinical Neurophysiology experience, including significant specialist expertise.
  • Evidence of clinical leadership.
  • Commitment to audit and service improvement.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through research and publications.

Desirable

  • Higher Medical Degree (MD/MS).
  • Trained Educational Supervisor.
  • CCST/CCT through a formal training programme.
  • Significant publication record within Clinical Neurophysiology.


Teaching & Research
