An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Urologist to join an established Urology service in the East of England. The successful candidate will be trained in General Urology and have a subspecialty interest that complements the department, particularly in Robotic Pelvic Oncology, Prostate Cancer Diagnostics, and Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC).
The role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time contracts available. The successful applicant will work collaboratively across multiple sites within the regional Urology service, contributing to high-quality patient care, education, research and service development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver Consultant-led General Urology services across multiple sites.
• Manage patients with specialist interests in Robotic Pelvic Oncology, Prostate Cancer Diagnostics and NMIBC.
• Share the regional urological workload with consultant colleagues.
• Participate in the consultant on-call rota, including weekday and weekend cover.
• Provide specialist advice to clinicians across other specialities.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance activities.
• Undertake outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and ward rounds.
• Contribute to teaching, training and supervision of junior doctors and medical students.
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and service development.
• Support research activities and academic collaborations where appropriate.
• Maintain continuing professional development and Royal College educational requirements.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Registration

Essential

• Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via:
• • CCT (or within six months of completion)
  • CESR
  • European Community Rights
• FRCS (Urol) or equivalent.

Desirable

• Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent).

Experience

Essential

• Previous NHS experience or equivalent specialist training.
• Experience in General Urology.
• Training and expertise in children's safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently as a Consultant Urologist.

Desirable

• Experience in research or published work within a specialist area.

• Human factors training.
• Previous experience leading service improvement initiatives.
