An opportunity has arisen for a Locum / Temporary Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join a busy acute hospital service in Ireland. This is a temporary whole-time consultant post offered on a specified-purpose basis, running until the permanent post is filled or an alternative service arrangement is in place.

The successful candidate will join a hospital providing acute inpatient, outpatient and day services, along with regional speciality services, and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care for older patients across the service.

About the Role

This post is for a Temporary Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine and will involve working across hospital services within the region.

The successful appointee will be expected to support and deliver specialist geriatric medicine services, while also contributing to general internal medicine care as required.

Requirements

Essential

Applicants must have:

• Relevant experience in Geriatric Medicine
• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
• Specialist registration in Geriatric Medicine
• Specialist registration in General Internal Medicine
