An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Haematologist to join a well-established service in Ireland on a temporary, whole-time basis.

This role is a specified-purpose contract, created to provide cover for a substantive consultant undertaking a senior leadership position. It offers a strong clinical platform for experienced consultants seeking locum flexibility with long-term stability

Main Duties of the Job

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality consultant-led haematology care
  • Manage patients across:
    • General haematology
    • Malignant and non-malignant conditions
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient services
  • Support diagnostic and treatment pathways

Service Delivery

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving clinical standards
  • Ensure continuity of care during the absence of the substantive consultant

Governance & Professional Practice

  • Participate in:
    • Clinical governance
    • Audit and quality improvement
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Adhere to professional and regulatory standards

Person Specification

Requirements

Essential

  • Specialist IMC Registration (Specialist Division)
  • Relevant Consultant-level qualification and experience in Haematology
  • Minimum 1 year NHS experience
  • Proven ability to work at a consultant level
  • Strong clinical and decision-making skills

Desirable

  • Experience working in comparable healthcare systems
  • Evidence of audit/quality improvement involvement
  • Strong multidisciplinary team working experience
