An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Consultant ENT Surgeon to join a supportive and forward-thinking healthcare organisation in Scotland. This role is available on either a Substantive or Fixed Term Contract basis and offers the chance to work within one of the region's most modern hospital environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Adult and Paediatric ENT services, contributing to both elective and outpatient care, while helping shape future service development. Candidates with complementary subspecialist interests are welcome, with Otology experience being particularly desirable.

Main Duties of the Job
- Deliver comprehensive Consultant-led ENT services for adult and paediatric patients.
- Provide outpatient clinics across hospital and community clinic locations.
- Undertake elective ENT surgical procedures in modern theatre facilities.
- Participate in diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of ENT conditions.
- Manage emergency ENT presentations and contribute to on-call services.
- Support specialist clinics including head & neck, voice, paediatric and audiology pathways.
- Work collaboratively with anaesthetics, paediatrics, radiology and wider MDT colleagues.
- Provide supervision and teaching for junior doctors and GP trainees.
- Participate in departmental governance, audit and continuous improvement programmes.
- Contribute to service redesign and innovation across ENT pathways.
- Support clinical education through journal clubs and teaching sessions.
- Provide reciprocal consultant cover during periods of leave.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Primary Medical Qualification
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
- FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent international qualification
- CCT in ENT / Otorhinolaryngology, or within 6 months of completion
- GMC Specialist Register entry, or eligible for entry
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 1 year of NHS experience
- Broad Adult ENT experience
- Paediatric ENT experience
- Evidence of patient safety and person-centred care
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Participation in audit and governance activity
Desirable
- Otology experience
- Complementary subspecialist interests
- Research, presentations or publications
- Service improvement/leadership experience
