A high-priority opportunity for Emergency Medicine Registrars and Senior RMOs to join a growing Emergency Department workforce in Australia. The service is actively transitioning from a locum-heavy model to a stable permanent workforce, with multiple vacancies available for international doctors.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Deliver frontline Emergency Medicine care across a broad range of acute presentations
  • Assess, stabilise and manage patients within the ED under consultant supervision
  • Participate in clinical decision-making, resuscitation and escalation pathways
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient flow
  • Support junior doctors and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in clinical governance activities

Workforce & Hiring Context

  • Current workforce: ~40 doctors (approximately two-thirds locum)
  • Strategic goal: Recruit 20 permanent doctors during 2026
  • Flexible hiring approach with capacity for multiple international hires (3–6+) simultaneously

Contract Options

  • Permanent roles available
  • Long-term locum contracts considered
  • FIFO or consistent locum cover up to 6 months is welcomed

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year NHS experience
  • Emergency Medicine experience appropriate to Registrar or Senior RMO level
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability and commitment to ED service delivery
  • Suitable for international candidates seeking permanent or longer-term Australian roles
