An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled Emergency Medicine Registrar to join a busy emergency department in Ireland, delivering high-quality, patient-centred acute care services. The post provides extensive exposure to a broad range of emergency presentations in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, supporting ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across a broad spectrum of acute presentations.
- Participate in resuscitation, trauma management, and urgent care pathways.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, handover, and patient safety.
- Participate in departmental audit, governance, and quality improvement activities.
- Support junior medical staff and contribute to team-based care delivery.
- Participate in rota-based shift working, including nights and weekends.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Registration
Essential
- Medical degree.
- Active registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- MRCEM or equivalent postgraduate Emergency Medicine qualification (completed or in progress).
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Ability to commence employment from 12th January or as close as possible.
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Emergency Medicine.
- Relevant experience working at the Registrar level in Emergency Medicine.
- Experience managing undifferentiated and high-acuity patients in a busy emergency environment.
- Minimum 1 year of NHS experience.
Desirable
- Overseas clinical experience in comparable healthcare systems.
