Stroke - Registrar

A Trust in North West England is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Registrar with a special interest in Stroke Medicine to join its dedicated medical team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, providing high-quality care to stroke patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral part of the Stroke Medical Team, supporting the continued development of the Stroke Service.
  • Provide expertise and support to the Unit and dedicated Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
  • Assist and supervise junior doctors and specialist nurses, contributing to service improvements.
  • Support the Medical Registrar on-call requirement as needed.
  • Engage in teaching, audit, and clinical governance activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice at the time of application.
  • Completion of Internal Medicine Stage 1 (IMT) training.
  • IMT CiP or Full MRCP qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years full-time post-foundation training in Core Medical Training (CMT) / Internal Medicine Training (IMT) or equivalent.
  • Active participation in acute medical take within the last 6-12 months.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and experience managing risk.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Postgraduate teaching experience or qualification.
  • Involvement in research, audits, and quality improvement projects.
  • Additional certifications in evidence-based medicine or relevant specialties.
  • Leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.
  • Competent in IT and medical record management.
