Paediatric Anaesthetics Consultant

As a Paediatric Anaesthetics Consultant, you will be vital in administering anaesthesia to paediatric patients undergoing various medical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer anaesthesia to paediatric patients across a spectrum of surgical and medical procedures.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after anaesthesia, adjusting levels and interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with surgical and medical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and create tailored anaesthetic plans for individual patient needs.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior medical staff, trainees, and support staff within the Anaesthetics Department.
  • Stay updated on advancements in paediatric anaesthetics and contribute to the development of departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Complete registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.
  • Full FRCA.
  • Significant experience in anaesthesia.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS.

Desirable:

  • Additional degree or postgraduate qualification (MRCP, MD, etc.).
