Specialty training in the UK can take up to eight years for hospital doctors, depending on the specialty. NHS doctors in specialty training often have ST (specialty trainee) as their job title, followed by a number that indicates how many years of specialty training they have e.g. ST3 Radiology. In the UK, you must undertake specialty training in an NHS (public) hospital.
