This role is suited to doctors with an existing Rural Generalist qualification seeking a structured permanent placement with strong clinical variety, lifestyle benefits, and fellowship development opportunities.

Main Duties of the Job

• Provide comprehensive primary care and urgent care services in a rural healthcare setting
• Deliver holistic patient management across acute, chronic and preventative care pathways
• Participate in emergency presentations and stabilisation where required
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and regional referral services
• Contribute to the continuity of care across community and hospital interfaces
• Support service delivery aligned with rural workforce and community health needs

Role Profile

• Suitable for doctors at PGY 5–7 level
• Requires an existing Rural Generalist specialist qualification
• Permanent placement ideally aligned with a 3-year fellowship pathway

Training Pathway Context

• Rural Generalist training programme: 3 years (ACRRM pathway)
  • 12 months of primary care
  • 18 months of extended primary care exposure
